Privacy Policy
Nual helps you decide what to keep, sell, or donate by analyzing photos you take. This page explains, in plain language, what information that involves.
Effective September 12, 2026
Nual is built to work with as little of your personal information as possible. You can use the entire app as a guest, with everything stored only on your own device. Creating an account adds cloud storage for your collection, which requires an email address and the photos and item details you choose to save.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and Nual contains no advertising or ad-tracking.
When you photograph an item, that image is sent securely to OpenAI's API to generate your keep/sell/donate recommendation, styling suggestions, and any AI-illustrated shop images. OpenAI processes this solely to return results to the app. Nual does not use your photos to train any AI model.
Firebase (Google)
Account sign-in and cloud storage for your collection, if you choose to create an account.
OpenAI
AI analysis of your photos, and generation of illustrative shopping images.
Google Shopping
Tapping "Find this item" opens a product search in your device's own browser. Nual does not send your account information along with that search.
If you use Nual without creating an account, your collection is stored only on your device (nothing is uploaded to our servers). Photos are still sent to OpenAI at the moment you request an analysis, as described above.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information is shared only with the service providers above, only as needed to make the app work.
You can use Nual entirely as a guest to avoid creating any account data. If you have an account and want it and everything in it deleted, email us and we'll take care of it.
Nual is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date above. We'd encourage checking back occasionally.
